Retired Teachers Honoured and Meritorious Former Students Recognised in Pirganj, Thakurgaon

A farewell reception for retired teachers and an award ceremony for distinguished former students was held at 88 No. Ajlabad Shishu Shiksha Kendra Government Primary School in Pirganj Upazila of Thakurgaon on Friday afternoon. The event honoured retired Acting Head Teacher Md. Ibrahim Khalil, Founding Head Teacher Md. Anwarul Haque Chowdhury, and Senior Assistant Teacher Md. Shahjahan Ali for their dedicated contributions to education and student development over the years. Former meritorious students of the institution were also recognised during the programme. Many of the award recipients are currently serving in important positions in government and private organisations, while several others are studying and working at reputed public and private universities, including the University of Dhaka. The programme was presided over by former Head Teacher of Bairchuna High School, Altaf Hossain Chowdhury. Former Upazila Chairman and General Secretary of Pirganj Upazila BNP, Professor Md. Ziaul Islam Zia, attended the event as the chief guest. Senior Vice-President of Pirganj Municipality BNP, Lecturer Md. Asaduzzaman Chowdhury Manu, and former Chairman of 11 No. Bairchuna Union Parishad, Md. Ayub Ali Chowdhury, were present as special guests. Speakers at the event highlighted the vital role of teachers in nation-building and praised the retired teachers for their sincerity, dedication, and commitment to shaping generations of students into enlightened citizens. They remarked that the contributions of these teachers to the expansion of education and human resource development in the region would remain memorable for years to come. Addressing the current students, the speakers encouraged them to pursue success through hard work, honesty, and strong moral values. They also urged students to maintain lifelong respect and gratitude towards their teachers and educational institution.
